Obtaining
Fight and kill zombies and spiders that drop carrot and potato with probability of 2.5% when killed.
Farming
You can plant Carrot and Potato on tilled dirt with hoe. Add lights and water to speed up the process of farming.
Carrot and Potato Farming takes 8 stages to grow. But only 4 stages are visible for the player. Every two stages have the same texture, except that growth stage 7 keeps the same appearance as stages 5-6, so that only stage 8 has the final, 'mature' appearance.
Fully grown carrot crops drop 1 to 3 carrots.

Spiders drop them too now?
BlueTangs Rock3, yes, with the same probability as zombies
pocadmin,oh. Convenient,but makes no sense(because carrots and potatoes are plants,and most spiders are carnivorous,by the way, I believe how spiders and Zombies drop fish is by assuming that they were "eaten" by the monster mobs,and some spiders do eat fish supposedly so that drop makes sense,but not the two crops though), but I guess it's ok. I still wish that you could get carrots and potatoes as a rare drop from mining tall grass with an iron or better tier hoe or something though.
