Greetings, recently there has been news that Quartz items have been added to Survival Multiplayer, but only as a rare enderman drop.
It's good that we can now we can actually obtain that item in survival, but there are problems with choosing a rare drop in the enderman's loot table as the only way to obtain the item.
First, is the fact that most of the crafting recipes you use Quartz in require you to obtain the item in bulk, not in scarcity, such as Quartz blocks, Quartz Pillar, Chiseled Quartz, Quartz Stair, Quartz Slab, and some other of the Quartz crafting recipes, which will all need you to obtain enough Quartz to craft a significant amount of them to make the addition of Quartz worthwhile.
The other problem is the fact that one of the rarest mobs in the game, the Enderman was chosen to have the rare Quartz drop, which means that not only do you have to locate an enderman in the first place, you also have to kill many of them to have a chance of obtaining a Quartz item because it's a rare drop from a pretty uncommon mob, you can't obtain enough Quartz to efficiently use in crafting recipes at that point.
My Solution? Make Quartz an occasional drop from Gravel, though you may be asking "why gravel?" This is because at the moment gravel is a pretty useless block with it's only purpose being as decoration or as a source of flint, and since gravel is supposed to represent small pebble-ish rocks Quartz would be a reasonable addition to the Gravel loot table.
The Drop chance of Quartz could be slightly less common than flint, but common enough to not be a pain to find(even though gravel blocks are much more common than endermen), so for example an 8-10% drop chance(as the flint drop chance is around 10%).
This would give a use to gravel for people who want Quartz-type blocks/items and also allow players to obtain the Quartz much more easily and consistently until an actual Quartz Ore block is added to the game.

oh, I guess I heard wrong about endermen exclusively dropping them when supposedly in reality it's just any hostile mob that can drop it, my mistake.
Though it still would make sense for an ore-type mineral item to be found in a stone-like block like gravel than as a mob drop though, and we are starting to get too many placeholder item drops for hostile mobs rather than making more creative work-arounds to the placeholder item situation.
BlueTangs Rock3, Well yesterday was an new Bugfix Update in Store(75 mb idk why) and now Mobs drop quartz really rare! The reason why u thinking just endermans drop it was because Admin say it to me on my Quartz Post! And this was shit because until yesterday was it impossible to get quartz! Well now is it here and all can get Comperator and the Quarzblock! But we should have an way to get the others Quartzblocks too!
