Guys in response to many asks we are working on the series of the tutorials about Farming in Survival Multiplayer Mode.
Let's start with the Farming Basics!
If you have pro level in farming, read our next article about Melon and Pumpkin Farming. Also feel free to add your comments, tips, and tricks according to the Farming theme in the comments below.
First of all, you need to get seeds. In the current game version 3.2, - you can get and grow wheat, potatos, carrots, beetroots, pumpkins and melons. When you have at least 10 seeds, you can start farming.
Next step is to plow dirt with hoe to create a Farmland block, where all plants can be planted and grown.
Next step is to make two rows of farmland with two in each row and add a water in between to help your wheat grow faster.
In general to make hydrated farmland you need to follow such conditions:
- Water up to four blocks away horizontally, including diagonals.
- The water must be on the same level or 1 block above farmland block level.
The blocks between the farmland block and the water make no difference. Player cannot influence the rate at which farmland becomes hydrated.
Next step is to add seeds to your hydrated farmland.
Farmland can become to dirt block, if nothing planted on it for too long, or if the player or any mob jumps or falls on the block. That why it's better to surround your farmland with fences.
To speed up the process of growing plants, you need to add some torches or other lights around your small farm in order to give your crops a constant supply of light.
When your plants finally grown, you can harvest! By hitting it, you will get grown plants and more seeds.
Remember!!! You or other players have to be online on the planted chunks to continue growing plants! When you go offline and other players aren't on the planted chunks, your plants will stop growing.

Remember 1 water block can hydrate 4x4 blocks of dirt.
Tip: Make an underground base with the farm above, so that you can still craft and let the plants grow. I've grown a lot of sapplings this way.
trash, I'll try that!
I didn't see it yet still looking but can you grow underground
WolfMasterKing, yes you can. But also some of the palyers have to be online on these planted chunks, remember this !
WolfMasterKing,your trees are grown now.
