Spawnzones aren't meant to be on fire, so this may be a bug with either lighting, fire charges, or flint and steel, as well as a bug with Spawnzone block protection for allowing the fire to spread onto and destroy blocks.

Correct they aren't supposed to be but when a creeper blows up or lightning strikes a wooden house even in the spawn it will damage or burn blocks as well as if you burn a tree that is half in the spawn and half out it will burn the whole tree not just the half of the tree exposed to the fire. I currently live in a spawn zone that some of the houses are burned out or have holes in the roof. Although I have never Seen a creaper go into the spawn zone I imagine that they do go in acasionaly

Although that fire is at a weard place it's in the grass maybe even on the stone so my guess would be lightning
