Dig down to elevation 11(find the lowest layer of bedrock,and dig 11 blocks up),and then start a "strip mine"(the MineCraft Wiki can teach you how to do that). It's the exact same way as MineCraft,execpt that hundreds of people already took thousands of diamonds from the caves. Hope this helps. :)
Find a cave with lots of cave systems (yeah it's somewhat hard to find) and try to find lava deep far down. Usually a lava place with lots of lava "rivers" underground. Not in a ravine though. The diamonds are usually always beside lava.
Phantom_Assassin, I use that fire trick too. I used it to maul some noobs at spawn that somehow had diamond armor while I had a stone sword. I went there to recruit members so i leave ill my gear behind

Look in the wiki stone clutches thats all i know but these are great ideas to find diamonds
