Yeah, I noticed this when I was building a base underground (on the other server). Iron ore kept "growing" over my staircase.

Fine with me.

HAKUIN, actually you need dirt to respawn otherwise one day dirt will be scarce and people won't be able to have farms since animals eat the grass from dirt blocks.

And they do starve without eating for a long time.

well, the grass grows back on the dirt if a dirt-with-grass block is nearby it,and honestly there is so much grass, and so much dirt, that it would be nearly impossible to completely get rid of just surface dirt(because you also have to keep in mind that there's also dirt clusters underground as well),and it'll definitely be pretty much impossible for animals to be the cause of extinction of the dirt-with-grass block unless the world's last dirt-with-grass blocks was in a small, icolated platform, and that in itself is nearly impossible, unless hundreds or thousands of people tried their hardest to kill off all dirt-with-grass blocks for probably around a hundred years or so since it's pretty like mining out the width of the in-game world, but just like the first two block layer of non-sand surface based,non-water based,non-stone based,or non-full snow block surface based biomes. Also within the time some people would try to hide their dirt-with-grass blocks,or the people who would have to actively be killing dirt-with-grass blocks may accidentally skip over,or miss a single,or a few dirt-with-grass blocks, and then those grass blocks start to spread...and you know what happens there. Basically,we almost 99.99% certainly don't ever have to worry about dirt blocks if they stopped re-appearing every day. As long as there's dirt and at least one dirt-with-grass block, there will always be more dirt-with-grass blocks, and as long as there's dirt-with-grass blocks, then there will always be dirt blocks(because the dirt-with-grass blocks drop dirt).

that was the longest statement I've ever made about grass and dirt.... Lol,xD

Somehow to rebuild the grass u can use bone meal on dirt with grass

Wait animals starve without food?

Animals need grass on the dirt not tall grass or ferns.

I'm pretty sure I'm the ONLY one who knew this but it became obvious when my animals kept suddenly dying....

They eat the green off the dirt which is actually grass, try doing a farm and have the animals on cobblestone..... They will all die.

And using bonemeal on plain dirt does nothing last time I checked, it somehow only works on dirt WITH the short grass.

You can actually see it's grass if you get a side view of it.

People really need to pay attention to detail like me. XD

Answers to (almost) all your questions....  Yes, animals need food, it's common sense, the game is inspired from Minecraft, only it's got a lot of updates right now and they're releasing it all for us and fixing the kinks as they appear on this forum.

Dirt and ore do respawn (ONLY in multiplayer survival) this is so there's always dirt and ore there for new players, started with ore respawn, then they introduced dirt, and not so sure about stone, but if it respawns, it respawns....

Not sure on respawn rate, it's either on a set time (24 hours) or 24 hours from when you last mined it, although some common ores like coal may respawn more frequently over this 24 hour period.

You may use bonemeal on dirt with grass, think it regrows tall grass (not double tall grass just tall grass that is one block high) or any crop and it speeds up the growth.

It is NOT only the top layer for ores, ALL ores respawn, but not so sure about dirt or stone, for facts etc look for the update posts or YouTube tutorials pocplayer shares, they are packed with info!

Hope this helped people, if any questions are not answered then please ask, I'll do my best to answer! :). Merry Christmas and hope you have a happy new year!
